Directions to Playa Grande / Casa de Amigos.

Exit airport to the right and follow the road approximately 26 km to Belin. You will make a right at an intersection with a gas station. RIGHT AT GAS STATION.

Follow road another approximately 24 km and you will make your first stop. You are now about 17-18 km from Playa Grande.

As you continue down the road make notice of the gas station on your left just as you leave the grocery store. This is the closest gas station to our house.

Continue on the road going west and you will enter a town that has an intersection to Tamarindo. This town is Hucas and you stay on that road and DO NOT go left to Tamarindo.

You will see another intersection to the RIGHT. It goes to Brazilito and Flamingo. Flamingo is where the Diving and Sport Fishing boats leave from. ( Flamingo is about 15 minutes from that intersection.)

Keep going straight past the Flamingo turn and you will drive about 5 minutes to another small town Matapalo. Enter slowly and you will see a soccer field on your right. Make a LEFT as you pass the soccer fields and follow the road out of town and along a hillside.

The next area of activity is the outskirts of Playa Grande. You will see a Surf Shop on the RIGHT that has a concrete wave in front. On the right look for a structure with a palm roof. That is KiKi's restraurant. At the next intersection go LEFT and you will see a new structure on your left. It is Frijoles Locos Surf Shop and Day Spa. That is where you will find Ian and Corynne. (I think you will like them more that the crew at the other Surf Shop.)

Stay straight past the Surf Shop and continue for 1.5 miles until you pass a guard at the gate of Palm Beach Estates.

ALL RENTERS are subject to a mandatory Costa Rican insurance and it runs between $12 and $30 per day, that is based on the size and value of your rental car.
